Samsung Announces HT-BD2E Blu-ray Home Theater System

Samsung has announced the HT-BD2E Blu-ray Home Theater in a Box System, which at $799 brings tremendous value to the table. The 5.1 system features 800W of total power via four satellite speakers, an expanded center channel and passive subwoofer.

The HT-BD2E ofers HD soundtrack support, including Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD. Samsung has also provided Full HD 1080p video playback from the latest Blu-ray Discs to deliver the highest levels of detail and clarity, while standard DVDs can be upconverted to near HD quality. The latest components can be easily linked to the HT-BD2E via an HDMI output, which includes CEC (Anynet+) functionality for management and control of connected devices using a single remote, and an Ethernet port allows users to keep their system updated with the latest interactivity features and support.

The HT-BD2E will be available in August for $799.
