LG has announced several new home theater in a box systems for the Asian markets. The expectation though is that LG will soon update their US offerings, of which the most recent product (LG LHT888) was announced in January at CES. The new systems all offer 5.1 channel sound, with the high-end Scarlet HT953TV punching out 1,000 watts of sound and a 10.1 Virtual Sound Matrix function. None of the systems come with Blu-ray, but all offer a DVD player with 1080p upscaling and LG’s beautiful champagne flute speakers.
The Scarlet model comes in at a converted price of less than $1200. There are two smaller systems as well, the HT762TZ and HT762PZ. Both systems offer 5.1 channels and 700 watts of total sound and the same 10.1 Virtual Sound Matrix function as the high end Scarlet system. The TZ comes in glossy black or wine red finish and sells for roughly $600. The PZ sells for about $500, but comes with only two of the floor standing flute speakers. [via CNET Asia]
