Pioneer LX01BD HTiB with Blu-ray Announced

Pioneer has announced the LX01BD home theater in a box system for the UK market. The LX01BD features 5.1 channel audio, Blu-ray profile 1.1, and a remote control with LCD touch screen. The high-gloss design is meant to complement their Kuro line of HDTVs. 

While the system looks great, the lack of Blu-ray profile 2.0 which gets you online content and a price tag of over $3,000 make this setup none too appealing. In the high end home theater in a box space, we prefer the latest Sony offerings which come in 5.1 or 7.1, but both e BD-Live capable, offer wireless rear speakers and a much lower price.
