Belkin Releases Gigabit Powerline Networking Kit

Written on Jun 22, 2009 by Brian and filed under News

Belkin has released a new product in it’s powerline networking family; a gigabit powerline HD adapter. The idea isn’t new, but the speed is – the kit lets you create a gigabit-speed wired network though your home’s existing electrical wiring. The 1000Mbps speed is five times faster than the current best technology and is great for getting content from one room to another.

Aside from being able to easily transmit content from a PC in one room to a home theater in another, for instance, the powerline networking products from Belkin are easy to set up too. Just plug one end of the Adapter into an available wall outlet and connect the other end to any device with an available Ethernet port (RJ45), such as a gaming console, set-top box, or computer.

The Belkin Gigabit Powerline Networking Kit is available now in the US for $149.99 and will be available in Europe in August.
