LaCie LaCinema Rugged HD Multimedia Hard Drive Released

LaCie has announced high definition support for their LaCinema Rugged multimedia hard drive. The LaCinema Rugged HD features 500GB of storage, allowing users to store and watch their favorite movies, TV shows, music, photos and other media in 1080p resolution.
Of course there are a lot of digital media storage devices on the market, but LaCie’s hook with this model is the durable design, making it easier and safer to transport from location to location. The design features a scratch-resistant aluminum shell, internal anti-shock absorbers, and a shock-resistant rubber bumper to better protect media files against everyday jolts and jostles.
The new HD support is key as well, the LaCinema HD accepts content via USB connection to any PC. From there it offers HDMI output, with included cable. The unit supports most standard and high-definition video codecs (H.264, MKV, WMV9, MPEG-4) to ensure easy playback.
The drive also comes with a remote control for navigating through the stored files.
The LaCie LaCinema Rugged HD is available now for a suggested retail price of $349.99.
