Mitsubishi to Give Away Vudu Media Streaming Boxes

Starting tomorrow, Mitsubishi will give away a Vudu streaming box for free with a qualifying Mitsubishi high definition display purchase. The deal also comes with a $50 Vudu credit, which is good toward video downloads which run from $1.99 for TV episodes to $20 for some new release movies.

With the credit and the retail price of the Vudu box, the value is roughly $200, which is comparable to Blu-ray players that are common fodder these days to move the much more expensive HDTVs. Mitsubishi thought they’d be different by partnering with Vudu, who incidentally is the only media player that includes HD streaming at the moment.

The promotion is short though, running only through August 10th. [Vudu]
