Western Digital Releases WD TV Mini Media Player

Western Digital has announced a second version of their popular WD TV product, this one dubbed the WD TV Mini Media Player. The Mini connects to a TV and plays back media connected to its USB port including devices like USB drives, camcorders and digital cameras. The Mini handles video, music and photo files and supports up o 1080i HD resolution.
While there are networked media players and home theater PCs on the market that can do much more, the Mini is affordably priced at a retail of $99 and is easy to use, and move about. Setup is easy too, just connect to the TV via component or composite cables and connect a USB device.
Other highlights include:
- Supports a wide variety of file formats including RealMedia Variable Bitrate (RMVB)
- DVD-like navigation with chapter support, trick modes and subtitles
- No internal drive, expand with USB media
