The Fujitsu ESPRIMO Q1500 is the latest micro-PC from a mainstream vendor, coming on the heels of announcements from Lenovo, Asus and others. As with the competing devices the ESPRIMO Q1500 boasts power efficiency and HDMI output. This little guy has one more trick up its sleeve though, optional Blu-ray, which is something we haven’t seen yet out of the competition. The computer is available now in Europe, hopefully a US release comes along quickly.
Other tech highlights include a selection of Intel Centrino processors, up to 4 GB RAM, 320 GB hard drive as well as 6 USB ports. From the software side, by the time it gets to the US the HTPC will come with Windows 7 Home Premium. The ESPRIMO Q1500 also is gentle on power, consuming only 19 watts in standby.
The ESPRIMO Q1500 looks great and has a Blu-ray option but there is a bit of a hurdle, and that’s its price. The ESPRIMO Q1500 starts at 699 Euros, roughly $1,000 here. Hopefully Fujitsu finds a better pricing scale when the Q1500 is released here.
