Logitech Harmony 700 Universal Remote Released

Written on Sep 3, 2009 by Brian and filed under News

The Logitech Harmony 700 is a mainstream universal remote that easily takes over for up to six remotes. The remote features a color screen, rechargeable batteries, one-click control of your most common activities and easy online setup.

Getting started with the Harmony 700 is easy – no need to try and retry entering codes for each one of your components. With the Harmony you connect the remote to your computer and with Logitech’s software, just enter the make and model of each component. The software will program your remote so that all your components will be under your control with a single remote. As you update your home theater with new gear, just reconnect the remote to a computer and update your system information.

Aside from easy setup, the Harmony 700 has several other great usability features. Logitech has what they call “one-button control.” This means that if you want to watch a DVD for instance, a single button press gets you ready to go, instead of having to power on each component one at a time, selecting he right inputs and so on.  Users will also enjoy the color LCD screen. The display is easy to read and offers niceties like quick channel tuning with channel icons rather than having to remember channel numbers.

The Harmony 700 also comes with rechargeable AA batteries that last several weeks. The remote comes with a power adaptor; when the batteries get low, just plug it in to recharge.

The Logitech Harmony 700 remote is expected to be available this month for a suggested retail price of $149.99.
