Sharp has announced the HT-SB500 3.1 channel soundbar today at CEDIA. The Sharp HT-SB500 houses left and right speakers, a center channel and subwoofer in one slim package. Sharp has also paired the HT-SB500 with a touch panel control pad on the front of the unit.
The Sharp HT-SB500 is a 32-watt system that offers audio decoding of DTS, Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro logic II, and leverages Dolby Virtual Speaker to simulate 5.1 channel surround sound. That’s not all though, the HT-SB500 also incorporates SRS TruSurround HD that virtualizes channels.
The soundbar includes dual audio inputs, right and left RCA jacks and a 3.5mm sub mini jack, which allows for a second audio source like an MP3 player. Also included is a remote control that is compatible with Sharp’s LCD TVs.
The Sharp HT-SB500 will be available in December for a suggested $349.99.
This is NOT a surround sound ,so don’t be surprised.I just received mine yesterday. You need a powered subwoofer and this will be a fantastic system for the money
Remember this is not surround sound but very close. Add a powered subwoofer and you will not be disappointed
