Onkyo Announces World-First 3D-Ready A/V Receiver and HTiB Systems

Onkyo USA today announced its first 3D-Ready home theater receivers and home theater in a box (HTiB) systems. The company announced three new A/V receivers and three HTiB systems. All of the new products support the HDMI v1.4 connectivity standard for 3D video displays and Audio Return Channel capabilities.

Polk Audio today announced two new additions to its SurroundBar integrated home theater speaker lineup, the SurroundBar 3000 and 6000SDA. The SurroundBars have a very shallow two-inch depth that compliments the design of flat-screen TVs.

Polk, who seems to love making soundbars, has announced another one, the SoundBar SDA instant home theater solution. Polk’s soundbars are actually very nice, but still lack the bass that many consumers want. That is, until now. The SDA also includes a wireless subwoofer in addition to the four 3.5″ mids.

Polk announced the SoundBar 360 DVD Theater at CES earlier this year. While we like the simplicity and added sound a soundbar can make, it’s a little difficult to get jazzed about this unit, with a price of $1100. For that kind of money you can buy a full-featured Blu-ray setup with 5 speakers and a floor thumping subwoofer.
