Onkyo has announced two new home theater in a box (HTiB) systems: the 7.1-channel HT-S5400 and the 5.1-channel HT-S3400. The receivers feature four HDMI inputs and one output plus support for 3D video.

Samsung Adding YouTube Support on Blu-ray Players and Home Theater Systems

Samsung has just announced a deal with YouTube to bring more Internet-based content to Samsung’s Blu-ray players which are sold independently and as part of their home theater in a box systems. This comes just two months after Samsung integrated with Blockbuster. Samsung has a bulk of the major players wrapped up now with YouTube, Blockbuster, Netflix and Pandora all on board.

Samsung seems to be executing the market saturation strategy with their home theater in a box lineup. Already with half a dozen systems announced this year, Samsung is rolling out another, yes a fourth Blu-ray home theater system, the HT-BD3252. The 5.1 system features 1000 watts of total power, wireless rear speakers and an included USB WiFi dongle to enable easy access to streaming content from Netflix, Blockbuster and Pandora.

Not content to just release details of their three CES home theater announcements, Samsung saw fit today to launch a new low-end HTiB system and a second new sound bar. The HT-WS1 is smaller than the Blu-ray enabled HT-BD8200 and is cheaper too. It features a wireless subwoofer, virtual surround sound and 260 watts of total sound.

At CES Samsung announced two home theater in a box systems with Blu-ray (2.1 channel HT-BD7200 and 5.1 channel HT-BD1250) and the world’s first soundbar with Blu-ray. Samsung neglected to release any pricing or release information at that time. At a press event today though, they finally committed to pricing and release dates, along with a few more details. The systems will start at $549 and the first one is available today.

Samsung has a press event today to unveil the latest details largely from their CES product announcements. But this new HTiB system slipped out a little early. The Samsung AS730 home theater system offers 5.1 channels (expandable to 7.1), 3 HDMI inputs and an iPod docking station.
