Onkyo Announces New 7.1 and 5.1 HTiB Systems

Onkyo has announced two new home theater in a box (HTiB) systems: the 7.1-channel HT-S5400 and the 5.1-channel HT-S3400. The receivers feature four HDMI inputs and one output plus support for 3D video.

Samsung Intros Blu-ray Home Theater Systems

CES 2010 – Samsung has unveiled its latest Blu-ray home theater systems, the HT-C6730W, which received a CES “Best of Innovations 2010″ award, the HT-C7530W, and the HT-C6500. All three models have a new “no grill” speaker design and DLNA connectivity for content sharing with other DLNA-compatible devices.

Sony Intros New Blu-ray Home Theater Systems, 3D Capable

Sony has launched three new home theater in-a-box systems with Blu-ray players. All three systems feature 1000 watt 5.1 surround sound audio systems with wireless rear speakers and wireless 802.11 connectivity for BRAVIA streaming Internet video. Additional features include DVD upscaling and codec support for Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD Master Audio.

Roku Player Adding Porn

There’s no other way to say it…the Roku player is adding porn to it’s channel offering. About a month ago Roku opened up their hardware platform by adding nearly a dozen content providers – mainstream providers you know, like Pandora and Facebook. Now they’re using their content network to deliver the “other” kind of content, porn, via EroticVision.TV. If nothing else, perhaps Roku owners will buy a second unit for the bedroom?

Amazon Disc + On Demand Program Launched

Amazon has launched a new program called Disc + On Demand which will give consumers who buy one of a select bunch of DVD and Blu-ray titles instant access to the digital version on Amazon’s Video On Demand service. Buyers will now have both immediate access to the title on Amazon VOD, along with the hard copy of the disk.
