Onkyo Announces New 7.1 and 5.1 HTiB Systems

Onkyo has announced two new home theater in a box (HTiB) systems: the 7.1-channel HT-S5400 and the 5.1-channel HT-S3400. The receivers feature four HDMI inputs and one output plus support for 3D video.
Sony BDV-E300 and BDV-E500W Announced – 5.1 Blu-ray Home Theater in a Box Systems

Sony has announced two new Blu-ray home theater in a box systems, the BDV-E300 and BDV-E500W. Both are 5.1 channel systems and include Profile 2.0 Blu-ray players. The BDV-E500W features wireless rear speakers via Sony’s S-AIR technology, while the BDV-E300 is S-AIR ready. These new HTiB systems will be available this summer.
Yamaha Home Theater in a Box Systems Announced – YHT-791, YHT-591, YHT-491 & YHT-391

Yamaha has announced for new home theater in a box systems. The YHT-791 and YHT-591 are 7.1 and 5.1 systems respectively and while they don’t include a Blu-ray player, they do offer HD audio decoding. The YHT-491 and YHT-391 are more value-oriented 5.1 systems that don’t skimp, each tosses in an 8″ 100 watt subwoofer.
Gefen Wireless HDMI Extender is Now Shipping

A few weeks back Gefen announced an ultra wideband (UWB) wireless solution to help people set up their HDMI connections. Designed largely for hard to reach places, like projectors mounted to ceilings, the wireless HDMI extender solves a lot of problems and is able to handle the high bandwidth needs of high definition video.

This effort in combination with their Super Bowl commercial and new products, like home theater sound bars, really has Vizio’s visibility at an all-time high.
Klipsch Announces HD Theater 1000, 500 and 300 5.1 Speaker Packages

Klipsch has announced three new 5.1 home theater speaker systems that are ready to be connected to a receiver. The new packages, HD Theater 1000, HD Theater 500 and HD Theater 300 will give listeners high quality sound at some of the lowest prices Klipsch has ever offered. Prices are $899, $599 and $399 respectively.

Sharp announced two soundbars and two Blu-ray home theater in a box systems at CES this year, but they didn’t have any pictures of the latter. We still don’t have the speaker styling shots, but at least we know what the main Blu-ray control unit looks like now.

Monitor Audio has added an entry to the high-end soundbar market, debuting the R-One-HD single piece soundbar. The unit features seven speakers that span the left, center and right channels. It also offers support for added rear speakers or subwoofer.

JVC Announces Five New HTiB Systems

JVC went home theater in a box crazy at CES, releasing five systems. The high-end TH-SB100 features a Blu-ray player, soundbar and wireless subwoofer. The NX-T10 is a skinny 2.1 DVD system designed for flat or wall mount. The last three are 5.1, 1000 watt systems in JVC’s new G-line of home theater products.
Panasonic Announces Two DVD HTiB Systems

Panasonic has announced the SC-PT770 and SC-PT670, both DVD-based home theater in a box systems. Both units feature 1000 watts of total sound in a 5.1 channel system with a built-in Universal Dock for the iPod. The SC-PT770 features a pair of SH-FX70 wireless rear speakers.
